The Johnson Solid Lifter body is machined from a special formula of wear resistant hardenable iron. This process allows the highest concentration of acicular carbide distributed across the entire cam face. That, along with a precise spherical contour of the cam face and a mirror like surface finish, promotes maximum rotation with the least amount of friction on the cam lobe.
The push rod end is machined allowing for a large oil reservoir and lightweight design. It is assembled with an oil metering plate and a precision coined push rod seat; this provides metered oil to the valve-train insuring proper oiling through the push rod. The metering plate is crucial in maintaining the proper oil pressure through the entire operating range of the engine.
